Strike up a conversation with a regular as I was packing up. He told me the catch here are usually small fishes. Guess I will not be fishing at this spot anymore as I saw him taking even the juvenile fishes. Tough to have big fishes if the small ones do not have a chance to mature.

Nothing much from the crab traps again, maybe fish bait is not appetizing enough. I will try prawns again next time.

Chatted with an abang who went paddle boarding in front of the beach I am fishing. We reminisce about the old times where there were a lot of fish bounties and fishermen will release juvenile fishes, so there will be catch on the future. All these changes when foreigners started coming in and start catching even the juvenile fishes. The authorities did nothing to stop the pillage and now there are very little catch from the shore.

We then changes topic and discuss which to bring our kids to during low tides to see the flora and fauna. I recommended Changi Carpark 6 and the kelong next to Yishun dam as the flats extend of a few hundred metres during low tides. There will be lots of interesting creatures to see during those times.

We went our separate ways after chatting for about 30mins as he is going to shower at NSRCC, while I need to pack up.

As I was packing up, I strike up a conversation with a cyclist who happened to be resting at the breakwater. Turns out he is also a fisherman. We exchanged contact details as he recommended a good fishing spot at Changi area where catch is abundant.

Two nice abang passed me their leftover sandworms. I was not able to finish it, so I passed it to the family beside me for them to use.

No haul from the crab traps despite leaving them alone in the water for a few hours. Fellow abang said crab session begin around February.
